How to Style a Silk Slip

KANAN Editorial · 16 September 2026

Start with the garment

A silk slip can form the starting point of an outfit for a quiet morning or an evening out. KANAN’s mini slips have slim straps, a V neckline and a gently flared hem. Before choosing a layer, check the garment’s size chart and the strap option you prefer. The way a mini length falls will vary with height and proportions.

A shirt for daytime

Try an open cotton shirt with sleeves loosely rolled. The contrast between the shirt and the silk satin keeps the outfit relaxed. A longer shirt gives you another way to adjust coverage; a shorter one leaves more of the dress visible. Keep accessories simple and let the two fabrics provide the interest.

A jacket for evening

A blazer brings a more defined shoulder line to the slip’s softer shape. Try it open first, then check the proportions with your chosen shoes. A flat sandal can keep the look understated, while a heel changes the balance. Neither requires a complete change of outfit.

Work with the colour

Misty Rose sits comfortably beside cream and warm brown; silver can work with white, charcoal or black. These are starting points rather than rules. Look at the garment in your own light and choose one supporting colour from your wardrobe. A small bag or a single piece of jewellery can be enough.

Before you choose

Compare the original product views, fabric option and measurements on the product page. Editorial images suggest styling; they cannot promise an identical fit on every body. Follow the care label supplied with your garment.
